Here’s my meal plan for the week of July 22nd to 28th full of simple recipes made with real food, complete with recipes and a grocery list.
Welcome to week two of my weekly meal plans. If you missed last week’s and want even more recipe ideas, you can check it out here. And if you want more tips and ideas specifically for meal planning itself, you can read this post.
And if you’re new here, each Friday I share my meal plan for the following week. As a full-time homemaker, I can easily get overwhelmed with managing my home. Between the cooking from scratch, gardening, homesteading, cleaning, and just being a wife in general, it can be a lot. Meal planning is one of the ways I can maintain order in my home and help to prevent that overwhelm.
Let’s just get into it. Here are the recipes I plan to make next week. Of course, you can take what you want from this list. If you end up following it meal for meal, you can obviously move the meals around to better fit your schedule timewise! 🙂
Simple Recipes for the Week of July 22nd to 28th
monday:
Parmesan Crusted Chicken Sheet Pan. This is one of my favorite meals I’ve made in the year we’ve been married. I’m a sucker for parmesan crusted chicken at restaurants. So it’s so nice to make it at home for a fraction of the price. And without inflammatory seed oils (if you know you know; if you don’t check out this post that has a little info on them). PREP TIME: 15 min. | COOK TIME: 40 min.
tuesday:
Salsa Verde Chicken Casserole. Typically every Tuesday we either have tacos or some type of Mexican food in honor of Taco Tuesday. I haven’t made this one yet, but it looks delicious so I’m super excited to try it out! I’ll probably serve it with rice, but sides are up to you. PREP TIME: 10 min. | COOK TIME: 25 min.
wednesday:
Pan Seared Lemon Dill Salmon. Dill may be my favorite herb. Well, actually it may be a close second to cilantro. But nonetheless, I love all recipes that require fresh dill, and I’m sure this one will be no different. I plan to serve this salmon with some asparagus and oven roasted diced potatoes. But again, you can make whatever sides you want with these main dishes. PREP TIME: 5 min. | COOK TIME: 10 min.
thursday:
Ricotta Meatballs. Here’s another one that I haven’t tried yet, but that looks so good. One thing I’ve learned about sharing these weekly meal plans on here is that it encourages me to choose recipes that I haven’t made yet for some reason. So that’s been really fun on my part. This one looks like it would be really good over pasta, so that’s what I’m going to do. I’m currently trying to stay away from gluten, so whenever I have pasta I use chickpea pasta. I know, it sounds kind of weird, but I think it tastes very similar to regular pasta. And even better, it has a very similar texture. That’s huge because a lot of the “alternative” pastas are very weird texture-wise. Plus it’s high in protein! Also, this recipe calls for both ground beef and ground pork. I will probably just do all ground beef to keep it simple and because we already have that on hand. And I omitted a few of the seasonings for the meatballs from the grocery list just because I rarely use them. But if you have them on hand and want to use them, go for it! PREP TIME: 25 min. | COOK TIME: 45 min.
friday:
Use up any left overs you have from previous meals, or get dinner from a restaurant for a little break from cooking!
saturday:
Steak, baked potatoes, & zucchini. If you went through last week’s meal plan, you’ll notice that this meal is exactly the same as last Saturday haha. We typically have steak almost every Saturday night. So if you want something else, choose whatever you want to have instead of steak! I won’t be offended haha.
sunday:
Hamburgers. I think we all know how to make this, so no recipe should be required haha. Get whatever buns and toppings you want and have some classic and easy hamburgers for a simple Sabbath dinner!
Grocery List
This week I made the grocery list into a little downloadable photo so you can save it to your phone and cross things off from there. Hopefully that will be easier and more organized for you!
That’s all for this week’s meal plan. Leave a comment to let me know if you try any of these recipes, and let me know which one is your favorite! Until next time 🙂
