Welcome to my blog. I’ve had a blog for about four years now, but recently decided to create a new, nicer website. I haven’t written a blog post in a while, partly because school and life have gotten really busy in the past year, but also because I felt led to take time to dig deep into certain things and topics. I spent the majority of my free time learning and reading about things, and found that I didn’t really have time to write. I also felt that I needed to learn more about the things I wanted to write about before sharing about them on my blog. I like to write about “controversial” and big topics on here because I feel that it’s so important for people to know about those things, but also just because I love learning about them myself. But because of that, it takes time to write posts on here because I want to do my research first. There’s nothing more annoying than someone giving false information about something or acting like they know everything about something when they don’t. I don’t want to be that person, so I make sure to research and have a good understanding of a topic before I share about my findings on here. That’s why I haven’t written in a while. I had so many things I wanted to write about over the past year, but I didn’t have enough time to research and write about those things along with focusing on school at the same time. But now as I near the end of school, I plan to start writing more. I wanted to start by sharing the things that I plan to right about on here going forward:
one ///// Christianity
- My faith is the most important part of my life, and I feel that it’s important for me to share that with others. Specifically, I feel that it’s important to share true Christianity with others. So many Christians and churches today get it all wrong and preach a false gospel. In a lot of cases, they follow the world more than they follow the Bible. They water Scripture down and make it more about the self than about God. That might feel good and get more people to attend that church, but it’s not real Christianity. The real gospel is offensive. That’s why people hate it and that’s why Jesus said we would be persecuted for our beliefs. Nowadays, too many people are straying away from that real gospel and creating one that conforms to the world and to society. I want to share what I’ve learned and continue to learn in hopes that I can help point people back to what the Bible really says and what Christianity really is.
two ///// gardening
- This past summer I started my first garden. I loved it for so many reasons and want to continue to grow in my knowledge so that I can become a better gardener over the next few years. I really want to be able to grow enough vegetables one day to sustain my family’s meals for that year through fresh vegetables and canned/stored vegetables. Up front, gardening may seem like a big investment. But after you get your garden established you will end up saving money on groceries. Seeds are relatively cheap, and each seed produces a whole plant which, in most cases, grows a lot of fruit/veggies. You can even save seeds from the vegetables you grow so you don’t have to buy new ones the next season. You will also be in control of the things that are put onto your produce which, to me, seems to be worth the extra money in the beginning. So much of the produce in the grocery stores, even the organic produce, is covered with chemicals. Nothing beats the peace of mind of knowing that your produce is truly organic in every sense of the word. I think this will become even more important to me whenever I have children to feed.
three ///// homesteading
- Having a homestead has been a dream of mine for the past couple years. The thought of having my own animals, a huge garden, and a lot of land brings me so much joy. There’s no doubt it’ll be a lot of work, and it may take a while to get it to where I want it to be, but the benefits of it will far outweigh the time, money, and work that are required. In the long run, just like a garden, I do think that having a homestead will save money. Raising your own meat and growing your own fruits and vegetables does pay off. Especially, again like with gardening, since you are in control of how you raise the animals and what you put on your garden. Organic and grass-fed meat, organic fruits and veggies, and organic, free-range eggs are all quite a bit more expensive than the “regular” options found in grocery stores. But the quality, nutrient values, and overall health are so much better in the organic, grass-fed, and free-range foods. Raising and growing your own food in that way will, overtime, give you those good quality foods for less than they’d be if you got them from a store. And of course, there is still the question of whether or not those labels are actually true. It’s also so important for me to be self-sustaining. I don’t want to rely on other people for my food and products, especially nowadays when the food industries and government are so hard to trust. Of course, this isn’t something I will be living out right now. But, as Jessica Sowards, a homesteading gardener on YouTube says, make your waiting room your classroom. So, as I wait until I have land to build a homestead on, I will be learning and sharing those things on here until I am able to share the process of building a homestead.
four ///// femininity
- Our culture has destroyed true femininity. Feminists have fought so hard to make men and women equal that they’ve also lost sight of what it really means to be a woman. Feminine qualities are no longer admired, and in many cases, they are even laughed at and considered not good enough. Women who desire to look nice, be a wife and a mother, and submit to their husbands are looked down upon while women that don’t want children, stay unmarried, and climb the corporate ladder are praised and celebrated. There’s a reason why God created both men and women. Our differences compliment each other, they don’t compete with one another. When they are seen as competing against one another, the differences are no longer celebrated but are seen as being bad and needing to be fixed. The masculine qualities of men are seen as being too masculine and strong, and the feminine qualities of women are seen as being too feminine and weak. But there’s a reason behind everything God does, and so there’s a reason He made us this way. We need both masculine and feminine qualities within our society for it to function and thrive. These qualities are what make a good family function and thrive as well. I’ve become more and more aware of just how important true feminine qualities are. When I embrace those qualities within myself I feel joyful and empowered, the complete opposite of what society says will happen. I want to help other women embrace their femininity by sharing what Biblical manhood and womanhood look like and how the two compliment each other.
five ///// baking & cooking
- Part of embracing my feminine qualities and learning homesteading skills has included learning more about baking and cooking. I’ve also loved to bake and cook, but as I’ve learned more about it and practiced it more, I’ve found that I’ve become more confident and have gotten better at it. I’m currently working towards perfecting a sourdough loaf, so I will be sharing about that journey on here, as well as the other things I learn along the way and whatever else I decide to start practicing on.
six ///// non-toxic products
- Living a non-toxic, or at least a low-toxin, lifestyle is something I’m very passionate about. There are so many toxins in our environment and in the products we use on a daily basis. A lot of these chemicals can harm our endocrine system and other normal body processes, and some are even considered carcinogens. I’m excited to dive into this topic on here and teach you about what’s in the products you are using, as well as how to switch out to healthier and more natural products that still work just as well.
seven ///// homeschooling & parenting
- Just like the homestead, these are topics that I obviously won’t have first-hand experience with yet. But since these things are so important, I want to start learning about them now so that whenever that time comes I will already have quite a bit of knowledge and feel more confident in what I’m doing. Being a mother has always been my biggest goal in life, and it’s something I think about probably on a daily basis. Recently, I’ve wondered why we spend so much time throughout our teenage years and early twenties learning academics for a future job when we don’t learn much, if anything, about how to be a wife or a mother, which I believe are way more important than any job you could ever have. Why not spend the years before becoming a wife and mother learning about how to do those things well instead of waiting until you’re in those seasons to learn about them? So that’s what I plan to do and share about on here.
eight ///// politics & history
- It’s so important to understand how politics and the government works in the country in order to make informed decisions on the things you support and the people you vote for. Way too many people vote based on emotion, but that never ends well. We need to understand how these things will affect us and why they affect us in those ways. We also need to have knowledge of historical events in order to have a better understanding of current affairs. A lot of people are trying to create a new history that fits their current narrative, so it is more important than ever to truly understand what really happened instead of listening to other people that are trying to shape your understanding in a certain way.
nine ///// natural remedies & healthcare
- Of course there is always an importance to western medicine and healthcare. But I do believe that we’ve become way too reliant on it. So many people go to the doctor for things that could easily be handled at home and with way less money. I also believe that the current healthcare system doesn’t do a great job at supporting true wellness and health. They simply fix your problem by prescribing a certain medication that only masks the real issue going on inside your body. Looking at your health from a holistic view and trying to treat the root cause of your ailment is way more effective than taking a medication that only hides your symptoms. I’ve been learning a lot about this topic since I’ve witnessed this firsthand, and so I’m excited to share about what I’ve learned and also about my own experiences on here.
I’m excited to dive into all of these topics and share about all of them on here with you. My hope for this blog is to share truth with people and help people see things differently that they may have never thought about before. I want to help and provide resources for you to do your own research on these big topics so you can make decisions for yourself. Most importantly, I want to share God’s truth in a way that isn’t watered down or changed to fit the culture. My prayer is that I can teach and share about things that aren’t readily available or talked about anywhere else, and that I can help you to become as passionate about them as I am.
