Welcome to Simply Sam where I share how to Live Simply and Traditionally in a Modern World. Read on to learn what to expect & my posting schedule!

I’ve had this blog for a while, but haven’t written a post in a long time. Life got busy with working full time and also planning for a wedding. While neither of those things are happening anymore (I’m no longer working full time & we’ve been married for almost 5 months now!!), I’m excited to get back into it. I love writing and I love sharing the things that are on my heart & the things I’m currently learning and loving.

So before I write an actual post, I wanted to share a little bit about what to expect & my posting schedule. Let’s get into it!

what to expect

So, what should you expect from this blog? I’ve made my slogan living simply and traditionally in a modern world because that pretty much sums up my life. And since my life is pretty much what I share about on here, that also pretty much sums up the posts that you’ll see from me. But what does that even mean? I’ve summed it up into a few categories that I’ll explain now.

Christianity

The first thing a simple and traditional life entails, at least for me, is Christianity. My faith. This is the foundation of my life and so it only makes sense that I would share about it on here. Things you can look forward to in this category are: book lists, resource recommendations, brief theological discussions, Christian womanhood & manhood, the productive Christian family, and more.

marriage & family

This one is very similar to the Christianity category, mainly because my marriage and family are both centered around the Christian faith. I would consider this to be part of a simple and traditional life because it’s something that not many people in the modern world value. To me, it’s part of a traditional lifestyle to value marriage & children because it’s so rare in our current progressive society to value those things. A lot of times, they’re even mocked and belittled. Enter homosexuality and abortion. Some of the things you can look forward to in this category are: book lists & resource recommendations (again haha), Christian marriage, topics within marriage, child rearing, homeschooling, and more.

homemaking

Again, very similar to the previous category. Homemaking is another lost art in today’s progressive culture. Women are strongly encouraged to go to college and climb the career ladder just as men are. Some celebrate that, but I think it’s done tremendous harm to women and to society as a whole. I truly think our country would be a lot better off if women didn’t work and instead took care of their home and family. If you’re interested in learning why, make sure you check back because I’ll definitely be writing a post on that in the future. But anyway, the things you can look forward to in this category are: home decorating, cooking and baking, femininity, gardening, cleaning , and more.

traditional eating

One thing I’m very passionate about is real food. Americans have developed so many diseases, syndromes and conditions, and it’s obvious that they are all due to the modern American diet. Traditional eating the way our ancestors did more often than not cures those things whenever implemented consistently. That’s why I’m so passionate about it. We don’t have to suffer from all the things we do. Things can be different. The things you can look forward to in this category are: recipes, food lists, grocery lists and hauls, cooking tips, and more.

holistic health

Like I said in the previous section, many Americans suffer from so many different diseases and conditions. Another thing I’m passionate about in relation to that is the fact that modern health care does pretty much nothing to actually solve the root issues of those things. All doctors do is give you a prescription for a medication that just hides the symptoms. It doesn’t actually solve the real issue at hand. Again, it doesn’t have to be that way. In most cases, you can fix the root cause through diet, lifestyle, essential oils, and herbs. I’ve done this myself (and am still working on it with some other things) so I’ve become so passionate about it because I know it works to truly heal in that way instead of just shutting down the symptoms.

So, things you can look forward to in this category are: essential oil and herb education, lifestyle tips, what being healthy actually means, food recommendations for overall health, and more.

If there’s anything else you want to see let me know! And also let me know if there are specific things you’re interested in learning about within these five categories!

my posting schedule

So now let’s get into when you should expect to see new posts from me. As of right now, my plan is to publish two posts a week. One on Tuesday and one on Friday. I will share them to my instagram, facebook, and pinterest whenever they go live.

That’s all for today’s post! Like this post and leave a comment below if you have any questions or requests for future posts. And make sure you share it with your friends & family who you think would like this blog!
